Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer
Job Brief:
We are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our innovative, fast-growing company. You will be a leading member of our fast paced engineering team. You will need to interface with various levels of staff and customers to produce high quality custom product solutions that meet necessary specifications and result in customer satisfaction.
To be successful in this position, you must have an attitude of ownership while working on projects of medium to high complexity with multiple pieces of equipment working together as a solution to the customer’s needs. You must be a self-motivated individual who is able to work under minimal direction or supervision
Responsibilities:
· Work with Sales, Estimating, and the Customer to take over a project and make a plan to ensure the project will be completed to specifications, on time, and on budget.
· If necessary, travel to the Customer’s site and obtain any necessary information needed for completion of the project.
· Create the design of the necessary equipment to meet the customer’s expectations and ensure it is within budget constraints. If the budget cannot be held, work with Sales and the Customer to reach an agreement and approval of a solution.
· Create all necessary drawings and documentation to make sure internal MK resources and if necessary any external resources have enough information to complete the fabrication of the equipment.
· Oversee the building of the necessary equipment required ensuring it is completed on schedule.
· Work with Sales and the Customer to keep them informed of the project status and resolve any situations that may arise along the way.
· Oversee the final assembly and set-up of the necessary equipment and ensure it meets all expectations and resolve any complications that may exist.
· Create manuals that describe the projects equipment operation, features and maintenance.
· If necessary, travel to the customer’s site for supervision of installation, start-up and commissioning of the equipment.
· Follow through with any post job analysis and drawing revisions to complete a clear record of the job and its performance.
Requirements
· Desired 2 years’ experience as design engineer or mechanical designer in custom design industrial equipment with emphasis on material handling and conveying systems.
· Minimum AAS degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
· Working knowledge of metal fabrication practices and processes.
· Mechanical hands on experience of industrial equipment.
· Industrial electricity knowledge base.
· General Industry and OSHA safety standards knowledge base
· Ability to create innovative design solutions to complex mechanical problems.
· Ability to research new product ideas and methods and apply them to improve existing products and processes.
· Must possess strong verbal and written skills with ability to listen well and interact at a high professional level with internal and external contacts.
· Must have strong Customer service skills
· Must have a strong sense of urgency to perform multiple tasks at a high level of detail.
· Must be a self-starter with excellent decision making ability.
· Must have a helping mentality to work closely with a team of people to complete the necessary tasks of the job.
· Must have the ability to travel and do hands on field work for extended periods of time.
· Must have good computer skills including but not limited to the use of:
